Lucknow: A new cultural movement dedicated to creativity, emotional expression, and artistic unity took shape in the heart of Lucknow with the grand launch of Samaroh – A Gathering of Artists. The initiative, envisioned as a non-judgemental and inclusive platform, aims to promote art, culture, and cross-generational artistic expression across India.
The launch event marked the formal inauguration of the India Chapter of Samaroh, along with the first live episode in the country. The evening brought together artists, performers, families, and art enthusiasts in a shared celebration of creativity, reinforcing the belief that art transcends boundaries of age, background, and experience.
A Platform Beyond Performance
Samaroh is designed not merely as an event series but as an artistic community built on emotional connection. It seeks to create a safe and encouraging environment where every artist feels valued, respected, and heard. The platform emphasizes that art is not just to be performed, but to be experienced and felt collectively.
Cultural Performances Mark the Launch
The inaugural evening featured a vibrant line-up of performances that reflected both contemporary and classical artistic expressions. Special guest Ms. Mallika Gupta opened the programme with a soulful Ganesh Vandana. The musical segment included performances by Ms. Jyoti Kashyap, Mr. Ishant Chaudhary, and Mr. Pranshu Agarwal.
Adding a youthful highlight to the evening, child artist Ms. Aaradhya Singh captivated the audience with a keyboard performance of “Jai Ho.” The event also featured several other artists, making the launch a diverse and engaging cultural showcase.
Reviving India’s Artistic Heritage
A key vision of Samaroh is the revival and preservation of traditional Indian performing arts that are gradually fading from mainstream platforms. Upcoming editions of the initiative will place special emphasis on classical and folk forms, including sitar performances, Hawaiian guitar, live tabla and dholak jugalbandi, and other traditional musical expressions that highlight India’s rich cultural legacy.
Roots and Global Evolution
The origins of Samaroh trace back to Singapore, where it initially began as “Mehfil.” During the Covid-19 pandemic, when isolation and uncertainty affected global communities, the platform evolved into Samaroh with the purpose of connecting artists through online gatherings and creative collaboration.
Founded by Ms. Renita S Kapoor, Founder of RMS Productions OPC Pvt Ltd, Samaroh emerged as a digital sanctuary for artistic expression during challenging times. With support from noted Indian actor Shishir Sharma, the initiative rapidly expanded into a vibrant global community.

Over time, Samaroh conducted more than 100 online episodes, drawing participation from acclaimed figures in the Indian arts and entertainment industry, including Smita Jaykar, Kavita Seth, Rekha Bhardwaj, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Rajeshwari Sachdev, and Varun Badola, among many others.
After a significant pause, Samaroh now returns with renewed vision—transitioning from a digital platform to a physical cultural movement aimed at fostering real-world artistic collaboration and engagement.
